Putting out painting flyers remains one of the fastest and most effective ways to generate leads for painting companies.

While I normally write about how painters can get the phone ringing with modern digital marketing strategies, flyers are a timeless technique used by most major painting franchises because it simply works.

These days, people are used to ignoring and scrolling past digital ads, but a nicely designed flyer will always catch someone’s attention.

If you want to start creating your own painting flyer, I designed five free templates that you can easily customize to your needs. Follow the steps below to open up the templates in Canva. You can sign in to Canva using your Google or Facebook account or just your email.

3 Reasons Why Using Flyers Work

Flyer promotion is one of the oldest and most effective forms of advertising. Painter flyers remain an outstanding way to reach your target audience and boost your sales.

But you might be thinking, “Aren’t flyers outdated already?” Not at all! Successful painting business owners use flyers for offline advertising to accomplish their marketing goals.

When done right and paired with your digital marketing strategy, painting flyers can significantly improve your campaign results and help you connect with prospects.

If you’re still not convinced, here are five excellent reasons why you should add flyers to your overall painting marketing strategy:

Flyers Are Fast, Cost-Effective, and Easy to Make

Flyers are affordable and easy to customize to fit your marketing budget. You can typically get discounts when printing them in bulk and even have them printed at short notice. Plus, you can choose your preferred size and number of flyers for a campaign to avoid waste of materials.

With my pre-made templates above, creating painting company flyers is a fast, seamless process even if you don’t have much technical knowledge.

There’s no need to spend the whole day putting together an attractive painter flyer; simply customize my painting flyer template to produce a stunning design. Channel your creativity by adding a personal touch to the templates.

Flyers Are Attention-Grabbing and Memorable

While online painting ads like banners and videos undoubtedly catch the eye, nothing still beats the look and feel of a tangible marketing material that people can touch.

Beautifully made flyers instantly draw attention, and they’re pretty memorable. People can quickly be reminded of your painting business anytime they look at your house painting flyers, building trust and encouraging clients to contact you.

Flyers Are Perfect For Promotions

Whether you’re advertising new painting services or offering discounts, flyers are an excellent tool to spread the word to your target audience in no time.

Pro Tip: Add redeemable discount codes or other special limited-time promotions, so people will keep your painting flyer and tell their family and friends. It’s easy to increase brand awareness and improve your reputation as people can easily share your printed flyers.

Best Places to Distribute Your Painting Flyers

So, where exactly do you hand out flyers to get the best return on your marketing investment?

Location is a critical factor in the success of your painting flyer advertising strategy.

Distribute your flyers to these oft-visited areas:

  • Community Bulletin Boards – Visit your local Chamber of Commerce to see if there’s a community bulletin board.
  • Community Organizations
  • Tourism Offices
  • Supermarkets
  • Convenience Stores
  • Coffee Shops
  • Gas Stations
  • Parks
  • Bus Stops, Train Stations, and Subways
  • Local Events Like Fairs
  • Your Own Booth at Trade Shows and Concerts

You can also try door-to-door distribution as many homeowners look for painters to get rid of old, unsightly paint and increase curb appeal.

Direct mail is a viable way to distribute painting flyers if you find it more cost-effective than hiring staff to hand out flyers in person. Ask for help from the United States Postal Service to guide you through the process.

You can also send your flyers to property managers or general contractors to get commercial painting contracts.

What to Include in a House Painting Flyer

While painting company flyers are an inexpensive tool to grab attention in bustling places, you’ll want to create a striking design that stands out and cuts through the noise.

Make sure to include the following elements, which you can find in my templates:

A Catchy Headline

Use memorable words to pique a reader’s interest. For example, I put “Say Hello to Curb Appeal!” and “Fine Craftsmanship From Start to Finish” in my painting flyer template as attention-catching headlines for painting businesses.

Easy-to-Digest Content

Highlight the major benefits and advantages of your painting business. For example, offering a painting warranty and being fully insured are key factors that gain customers’ trust. Keep the main content of your flyer concise and simple to read.

Company Logo and Brand Colors

Display your logo and incorporate your brand colors to add a professional look and personal touch to your flyer.

Clear Contact Details

Make sure your contact details, including your phone number, email, and website, are in clear view.

Crisp, Snazzy Images

High-quality photos add instant visual interest to your house painting flyers. My templates already include images, although you can easily replace them with your own original photos.

Repetition and Follow Up

Repetition is an essential part of a successful flyer marketing campaign. If you’re sending out 10,000 flyers, follow that up with the same number of flyers to the same people several weeks later.

Repeat your contact with prospective and existing clients through various platforms to develop familiarity and brand loyalty.

For example, you can follow up your painting flyer distribution campaign with digital components, such as email marketing and social media advertising, to connect with your target audience. Additionally, send direct mail to maximize your brand’s exposure.

A smart marketing mix of online and offline strategies is the best approach to promote your business and ultimately boost your painting profits.
